Music Video of This [& Last] Week:

Although this song is a little… raw, I’m just really happy to see Jamie Foxx in something, he’s been M.I.A. for so long I’ve missed his voice. lol. So that’s my excuse.

Worst Music Video I’ve Seen So Far: Danity Kane “Bad Girl”

Honestly Diddy, you couldn’t have given these girls better weaves? Your a mogul, you’re clearly pimping these girls, and they cant even get a trip to a nice hair salon? Nice song, bad everything else. The only thing I loved was Que && Dawn. :-D

One of Those “Why Do i Like This Video” Videos: Katy Perry “Ur Gay”

This video is actually kind of funny. This is the same girl that sang that “I Kissed a Girl” song. Maybe she signed a deal with the devil because as many times as I tell myself I hate her lyrics and gestures, I end up singing her songs. lol. Watch the end, it’s funny. :)

Funniest Video Clip That I Still Can’t Stop Laughing Over:

I’ve watched this clip over a million times and still find it hilarious.

Party Overload

Wow, so I haven’t posted in a really long time.  Lets just say there was a lot going on. But before I went on my hiatus I hit up club Tahona for the “In There Like Swimwear Pt 3″ party, Amazura on the 25th, and a BBQ in Queens. I honestly do not feel like delving into the details about each party so I’ll just briefly describe them.

I actually like Club Tahona, its a really nice place and their drinks are good. The only thing i don’t like about it is the ample seating.  There are way too many places to sit which causes the place to almost always look empty until like 2 am. But the “In There Like Swimwear Pt3″ party was pretty good. It was a foam party and probably would have been better to me if I actually got up from my seat and went to the dance floor but I was being moody. lol. Either way it was popping, don’t ask me about the end because we left early. :-D

Now I absolutely loved Amazura and had a really great time. The place is really gorgeous and huge, so unless its popular on the day you go you wont have a good time. Now I on the other hand had a great time and still do not regret having to pay $20 to get in. Yes, I said it $20. lol. The day after I took a little trip to Philly and stayed for a little before I came back home.

As usual I went to a bbq in Queens with my girl and we had a nice time despite the after-drama. Surprisingly it did not end until 3 am and it only did because of the insinuation of shooting. I’m not sure what actually happened I just remembered seeing 200 people running out of the backyard and unlike some, I’m not going to stand around asking what’s going on. lol.

For the moment that’s all I have to report on, I’ve been staying home a lot lately and catching up on some much needed sleep. I’ll keep you posted.

Music Video of the Week: Raheem Devaughn

Raheem Devaugh- “Text Messages”

This might just be one of the songs that you have to listen to more than once to start loving but after playing it a couple times I could definitely see myself jamming to it on a regular. lol. Raheem Devaughn definitely reminded me of The Dream a couple of times in this track, just some simple notes and tendencies that he did but he made this song his own. Okay now here comes the criticism (haha you had to know it was coming). My question is, has technology really advanced so much to the point that singing about text messages is now the new love making music? I’m not saying I completely hate the idea of the song, but it’s kind of juvenile if you ask me. And the one wardrobe change where he was dressed up like a nerd really confused me, it just didn’t fit with the rest of the idea he was going for but “to each his own” right Britt? lol. Anyway you definitely need to check this video out because the ending is really shocking, I’m not going to give it away but I really did not see it coming. ENJOY!

Dont forget to also check out Rihanna’s new video for her new track “Disturbia”. I think she really stepped out of her element in this one but did a really great job at it. I can’t get it onto the blog so you’ll just have to click out. ;) Forgive me.

Xplicit BBQ && Club 360

Okay so after all of my plans basically got completely rearranged I found myself getting dressed to go out with my girls. First, we went to the BBQ in Elmont that was hosted by Xplicit, Different World, and Rated R, which was actually pretty good. The food was on point or so I heard because I didn’t even eat. lol. They kind of played us in the liquor department with their baby bottles but that’s alright, everyone got their little hustle. lol. However, the music was good and the atmosphere was right but they shocked me when I heard that it was supposed to end at 12 o’clock. That’s extra early but I guess people are getting so used to BBQ’s getting shut down prematurely that they just decide to end them early themselves. Good idea!! lol.

But naturally, at 12 o’clock the BBQ was still going strong with more and more people showing up by the minute. Although this was great and all, we were also trying to hit up Club Dhaka in Brooklyn before it got too expensive so we left the BBQ at around 12:20 a.m. and went to a friend’s house to quickly get changed. After getting dressed, at around 1 a.m. we swung by the BBQ again to pick up my friends boyfriend to then realize that the BBQ was still going. I knew that 12 a.m. was too early to be true. Lol. Either way, we were still on our way to Club Dhaka. Too bad on our way there we found out it had already been shut down. We’re really going to have to stop messing with clubs in Brooklyn because they always seem to get shut down before we ever get there. lol.

Anyway, there was talk about going to Club DeRiver but instead we ended up at Club 360. Now I’ve never been to this club before so I didn’t know what to expect, all I knew was that there was a lot of people standing outside but only about five people actually standing on the line. This was not a good sign. However, we figured it was too late to actually try to find another club and a party is really what YOU make of it, so I put my positive attitude on and we walked to the club. But THEN after we got past the RUDE ASS bouncer that kept pushing us around, we get to the fact that the club was $25 to get in! Let’s just say none of us were all too happy about this. After hearing the bouncer scream at us REPEATEDLY because one of my friends was protesting the price, we all just threw our money on the table and walked in. I’m pretty sure they didn’t get $25 from each of us but that’s their problem not ours. Hahaha. [NOT MY PROBLEM!!-inside joke]

So we walk into the club and with amazement realized how small it was, just when I was about to freak out and demand my money back my sister showed us the REST of the club. hahaha. And oh my goodness was it hot as hell on the dance floor!! When I say hot as hell, I do not exaggerate. Given just how hot it was outside [we’re having a heat wave at the moment] one would have figured they would leave a door open or something. Just due to the heat the dance area was funky as hell!, why people don’t bathe before going to a party is beyond me but I digress. It was so hot in there that people were just dripping wet, even the ceiling was dripping, and everyone was running in and out of the bathrooms trying to dry themselves off. [Sounds like every Philly party to me. lol!] But at least they had a couple of ceiling fans and the area by the bar was really cool. Surprisingly we danced ALOT, the drinks at the bar were pretty good, and since DJ Anga-Manage-Mint was in the building the music was definitely on point. :) And I’m guessing it was supposed to be some kind of lingerie party because the females were borderline naked in lingerie and dudes was walking around in pajama pants. lol. We took a few pictures thanks to PartyReplay.com so if we’re Facebook friends you can go check that out also. :) Overall, we had a pretty good time and I would do it all over again. The party ended at around 3:30 a.m. and we got home around 4:30 a.m. after my friend dropped us all off. It was a pretty successful night. :)

Music Video of the Week:Jazmine Sullivan

Jazmine Sullivan “Need You Bad”

DAMN! Is all I have to say to this artist. She has some really great vocals and a great look. Her voice is really souful and it can almost be mistaken for the voice of Lauren Hill a couple times in this track. Missy also makes an appearance while showing off the reggae influences in the song. Check out Philly native Jazmine Sullivan and you’ll definitely see what I’m getting at.

We also know that with fans come haters so although I love her voice, sometimes she sounds like she’s screeching [not even sure that's a word] and needs to tone it down but she definitely gets and A in my book. ;)
